Effective February 1, 2026, the Maryland Food Bank (MFB) will be charging event fees for each Pantry on the Go (POTG) event. POTG Event Fees will be a flat fee of $500 per event (at one event per month, this is a maximum cost of $6,000 per year). The average POTG event costs MFB $4,500*. This includes the cost of the food itself and the cost of distribution (including transportation, gas, warehouse space, staffing, etc.). This $500 event fee is the first step in offsetting this cost and moving towards a more sustainable way of food distribution. HARBEL Community Organization would like to continue the monthly fresh produce distribution for the community, however in order to do so, we will need the help and generosity of donors. Our monthly food distribution is also an opportunity for the community to get together and volunteer to provide a service to one another. Our volunteer opportunities are for students needing service learning hours, retirees, community business owners, etc. At HARBEL, we are a multipurpose organization servicing a multinational community.
